Preidlhof – a Luxury DolceVita Resort will be unveiling an ambitious €6 million refurbishment and luxury upgrade in April 2017. The award-winning luxury health and spa resort is based in Naturns, South Tyrol, Italy, and is privately owned by the Ladurner family.
Overseen by the Austrian interior designer, Reinhard Köck, Preidlhof’s new development will see the addition of 41 contemporary ‘Wohnträume’ guest rooms with outdoor living rooms; 27 of these will be luxury suites and another five, luxury penthouse suites. All the suites feature spa loggias and some have their own whirlpool and private sauna. The penthouse suites will each have an outdoor cinema and the Luxury Penthouse Suite Dolce Vita Premium Star its own private pool. The new luxury accommodation will be situated within an entirely new main building (what was previously the ‘Stammhaus’). A larger entrance and reception area with a dedicated ‘Adventure’ check-in and Active Concierge service will also be added.
Until now, Preidlhof, has been largely the preserve of discerning Austrian, Swiss and Italian guests. A high percentage of these guests return year on year to enjoy the impressive 5000m² Spa and Wellness facilities, which offer a vast array of complementary and medical health, and beauty therapies, and was recently named as the “Best Hotel SPA of Italy” by the European Health & SPA Award.
The endless fitness and outdoor adventure possibilities within the Texel Group Nature Park (the largest natural park in South Tyrol) – particularly the hiking and biking – are another big draw, along with the beautiful natural landscape and Mediterranean climate. This is a rich and abundant land framed by mountains and populated by cypresses, palms and olive trees, as well as apple orchards for which the Merano province is particularly famed.
Preidlhof is itself built into the hillside, interspersed with orchards, vines, olive trees and subtropical plants. The Spa and fitness pavilion, the 450m² wellness water ‘park’, the dedicated sauna & Spa Tower, the fine dining restaurant (recently awarded its first Michelin star) and the guest rooms, all afford stunning views of the valley.
Central to Preidlhof’s wellbeing philosophy and success is the promotion of the Mediterranean ‘Good Life’ – La Dolce Vita – and this is interwoven into every facet of its offering. Preidlhof is a highly attractive destination as much to guests seeking an active and indulgent holiday, as to couples on a romantic break, as well as serious spa and wellness seekers travelling alone, or in a group of friends. The resort does not permit children under the age of 16.
