Nubia Dahabeya, an artist-designed private Nile boat sailing between Luxor and Aswan
We are delighted to announce that Pilot PR has been appointed to represent Nubia Dahabeya, an artist-designed private sailing boat offering owner-curated journeys along the Nile between Luxor and Aswan.
Combining the timeless romance of a traditional Egyptian dahabeya with contemporary art, design and craftsmanship, Nubia offers a slower and more personal way to experience one of the world’s most extraordinary landscapes.
A Contemporary Expression of Egyptian Creativity
Nubia Dahabeya was created by Egyptian artist and interior designer Hedayat ‘Heddy’ Taymour and her husband Elwy, who designed and built the boat from the hull up.
Heddy is the founder of Jam by Hedayat, the London-based art and design studio whose interiors for Nubia Dahabeya have been shortlisted for the 2026 BIID Interior Design Awards.
Every aspect of the boat has been created with intention. Bespoke fabrics, hand-crafted tiles inspired by the flora of the Nile and furniture made by Egyptian artisans sit alongside Heddy’s own artwork and carefully selected pieces by contemporary Egyptian makers.
The result is a richly layered interior that tells a story about Egypt through its artists, materials, colours and culture. With just six cabins and space for up to 12 guests, Nubia feels more like a beautifully designed private home than a conventional cruise boat.

The Luxury of Travelling Slowly
Nubia Dahabeya sails between Luxor and Aswan on private four-night, five-day journeys.
Travelling under sail whenever conditions allow, the boat moves at an unhurried pace and can moor beside islands and riverbanks that larger vessels cannot reach. Days are shaped around the rhythm of the Nile, with plenty of time to watch life unfold along the water.
Owner-curated itineraries combine Egypt’s great archaeological sites with more personal encounters and lesser-visited places. Guests may explore the temples of Esna, Edfu and Kom Ombo, visit Gebel el-Silsila and El Kab, walk through agricultural islands or gather around a bonfire beside the river.
Experiences can also include a dinner at Tekkeya, an introduction to the Aswan International Sculpture Symposium and a talk with a Nubian herbalist. These encounters offer a deeper perspective on the Upper Nile, connecting its ancient history with the people, traditions and creative culture shaping the region today.
On board, meals are freshly prepared using local ingredients and served around a communal table or outside on deck. The experience is relaxed, generous and highly personal, with each private sailing tailored to the interests of the guests.
