The museum’s main attraction is the famous Ötzi the Iceman, a glacier mummy from the Copper Age, preserved in ice for 5300 years. The mummy was found by chance by hikers in 1991, together with his clothing and his equipment on the Schnalstal/ Val Senales glacier. Ötzi is older than the pyramids, and gives visitors a fascinating insight into how people in the late Neolithic people lived.
