Forget the Clubs, Ibiza's Hottest Tickets this Season all Centre Around The Arts

It's no secret that more people are flocking to Ibiza for the pared-down luxury, fabulous restaurants and laid back beaches as much as for the lure of the nightclubs. However, those in the know are also drawn to Ibiza for its burgeoning arts scene. Luxury travel PR agency Pilot PR finds out more.

With festivals and galleries, fashion houses and even villa developments swept up in the art wave, it's no surprise that Ibiza is now one of the most sought-after locations in the Mediterranean, not just for visitors, but for property buyers and investors too.

1. Urban Art Festival

One of the biggest events of the Ibiza calendar, Urban 2015 will combine music, art and fashion in an exciting festival, providing a platform for talented emerging artists. The festival is a firm favourite with locals and visitors alike, and is growing in popularity every year. Urban will take place in the stunning grounds of the Agroturismo destination Atzaro Hotel. This year’s festival will showcase the work of established street artists, and will also include an outdoor fashion show, live art alongside the pool, as well new music from accomplished DJs in the Balinese inspired restaurant and bar. The Urban Art Festival will take place in Summer 2015, with dates yet to be allocated.

2. Calaconta Villas

Designed and developed by Jose Peman, a long time Ibiza resident and avid contemporary art collector, Calaconta is Ibiza's first exclusive gated villa development with private roads and sophisticated security features. Attracting buyers from the worlds of elite sport and high fashion. Calaconta's eco-advanced homes are works of art in themselves and take inspiration from traditional Ibicenco architecture to create the best in island living.

Buyers will have to hurry however as there are only four plots remaining. These 'Type 3' villas, with prices starting from €2.95 million, are located in the highest point of the complex, affording the best sunset views and over 8,500 square feet.

3. Art Ibiza 2015

Whilst Ibiza’s Urban festival will display the best of Ibiza’s local art scene, Art Ibiza 2015 will present some of the finest artwork from galleries and collections from Spain, and from around the world, in a prestigious international Fine Arts Fair. Running for the first time this year from July 16th to 19th , the fair will provide local, national and international galleries and collectives with the opportunity to gain visibility on a prestigious level, whilst attendees will be able to view unique and original art of a very high calibre.

4. The Superyacht Regatta

For those looking for beautiful craftsmanship, at sea, look no further than Ibiza Rendevous. October will see Ibiza play host to its second annual Superyacht Regatta following the success of the island’s inaugural event in 2014. The regatta will take place in Port Ibiza Town, which opened in 2014, and will feature pursuit style racing. It will be open to all sailing yachts that are longer than 20m. The racing will be accompanied by on-shore parties and entertainment, which will coincide with Ibiza’s legendary closing parties. Founded by Spike Thompson, who created the Superyacht Cup, the regatta is the hottest new event in the Mediterranean sailing calendar and will provide the perfect end to the summer sailing season.
