Hotel Böglerhof promises 5-Star luxury in the Austria Alps

Luxury Hotel in Austria Opens Brand New Spa And Ultra-Luxury Wellness Suites

& Gets Awarded 5 Stars – the first such award in the Alpbachtal region

Hotel Böglerhof — one of the oldest and most prestigious hotels in Alpbach — celebrates the official opening of its all-new, multi-purpose wellness complex with luxury suites (The Böglers Lodge) as well as the news that it has been awarded 5 stars by the Austrian Chamber of Commerce. Hotel Böglerhof is officially the only 5 star hotel in Austria's Alpbachtal region

The new stand-alone Böglers Lodge is home to four luxury wellbeing suites, four penthouses and a state-of-the art adult spa with treatment rooms, saunas, and a yoga studio. A heated outdoor pool seamlessly integrates into a natural swimming pond, making it a stand-out feature of the new space.

Each component of the new Lodge has been designed to take advantage of the knock-out views of the Kitzbühel Alps, which serve as an impressive backdrop for this luxury hotel in Austria, all year round. Four tranquil treatment rooms, each decorated in muted tones to create a welcome sense of calm, are served by a team of experienced therapists offering a range of soothing body, face and holistic treatments. For the best natural skincare treatments, Böglers Lodge uses products from the renowned Pharmos Natur range.

There is also a dedicated yoga studio, fully equipped with yoga mats and cushions, where a regular schedule of instructor-led classes take place. The studio boasts floor to ceiling windows which allow the space to flood with natural light, creating a relaxing atmosphere that’s ideal for mindful movement.

True to its Tyrolean roots, there are also a host of spacious steam and sauna options including the dramatic ‘Event Sauna’, an infrared cabin, a bio sauna and a steam bath, all offering the chance to soothe muscles, promote vitality and enhance wellness in sophisticated surroundings.

The eight new bedrooms within Böglers Lodge offer luxurious living spaces which fuse traditional wooden furnishings with more minimalistic modern touches. Each comes with a stand-alone bathtub and spacious balconies, giving guests unlimited access to the picturesque mountain views.

The Penthouse Suites also feature decadent outdoor beds for sleeping under the stars. The neutral interiors of the new Böglers Lodge are cleverly applied so as to elevate and complement this historic hotel’s traditional style.

History meets innovation

The exciting new expansion is just the next evolution in Hotel Böglerhof’s rich history. As an established pillar of Alpbach tourism, with roots dating back to the 15th century, the 76-room Hotel Böglerhof is at the heart of  Austria’s ‘most beautiful village’ and has long welcomed guests to enjoy its stunning mountain location in the Kitzbühel Alps, just 45 minutes northeast of Innsbruck.

This legacy is beautifully depicted in a multitude of black & white photographs that adorn the hallways of the hotel. They are testament to the life and times in Alpbach's history as a mountain farming village, as well as the prestigious annual European Forum Alpbach, which is inextricably linked to the Böglerhof.

The Moser-Duftner family have been custodians of Hotel Böglerhof since 1933, and are the consummate hosts of this pure nature resort. While Johannes leads hikes, outdoor activities, wine tasting and cookery classes throughout the year, son-in-law Hannes is the resident sommelier offering a deep breadth of knowledge for regional and international wines, and sharing considered recommendations for food pairings. Mother, daughter and son team — Michaela, Julia and Alexander — also all take a key role both front-of-house and behind the scenes.

Guests of the 5 star Hotel Böglerhof can take advantage of the adults-only facilities of Böglers Lodge or enjoy the newly upgraded family spa — a wellness space dedicated to families of all ages with an indoor outdoor pool, and a host of family friendly steam and sauna experiences all with ‘clothes on’ rules! There is also a kids’ club, playroom and playground, and a chill-out lounge for teens.

All guest stays are on a gourmet 3/4 board basis which includes an extravagant buffet breakfast, late light lunch and a five-course gourmet dinner. There is a deep understanding of and respect for the provenance of the food served at Hotel Böglerhof with an immense pride in their local cuisine. The Fuggerstube restaurant — awarded three toques by the prestigious Gault & Millau guide — has welcomed diners since the medieval Duchy of Swabia, and the inn’s original wine cellar, now well over 500 years old, is still in use and meticulously maintained.

The family has also had a close association with British holidaymakers ever since the British Army started holidaying in Alpbach in the 1950s. When stationed in nearby Germany, British Army skiers discovered the beauty of the valley and even went on to found the Alpbach Visitors Ski Club, the only English ski club in mainland Europe at the time.

Pure nature, year-round

Sustainable practices and respecting traditions are at the heart of the Böglerhof’s commitment to its guests. From celebrating local wines and mountain-fresh, seasonal produce to natural, organic products used in the spa’s therapeutic treatments, and its sensitive activity and adventure programme, Hotel Böglerhof is dedicated to celebrating the incredible nature on its doorstep.

In spring, summer and autumn, guests can see the mountain scenery change as they enjoy hiking, biking and climbing, plus swimming and kayaking in crystalline lakes. And in winter, cross-country and downhill skiing can be enjoyed, alongside snow hikes, horse-drawn sleigh rides and tobogganing.

The new expansion of wellness facilities is part of Hotel Böglerhof’s dedication to its pure nature concept, bringing the beauty of the outdoors to guests and offering the chance to soak up incredible scenery with a warm, Austrian welcome.

Stays from €165 per person per night based on two sharing a double room, and from €244 per person per night in a new wellness suite in Böglers Lodge — all on a gourmet board basis (buffet breakfast, late light lunch & gourmet dinner).
