Newly renovated wellness facilities
Recently reopened following an extensive renovation, the resort now boasts an architecturally striking rooftop level with outdoor swimming pools, an atrium bar, and terrace, all with stunning 360˚ views of the Zillertal Alps. Thirteen brand new luxury Alpine Rock Suites have been added bringing the total number of rooms to 70. Balconies or terraces feature with each room and have been designed to bring elements of the outside in, to create warm and inviting living spaces.
Wellness options have also expanded to offer over 3,500m2 of facilities including a brand new Event Sauna designed to take advantage of the best views, a rooftop gym, steam baths, treatment rooms, relaxation areas, an indoor pool and an outdoor Kneipp Path. There is also a great new weekly activity programme with everything from yoga and meditation to guided summer and winter hikes and bike rides.
Sustainable dining surrounded by nature
The team at ZillergrundRock really knows how to embrace their close proximity to nature, radiating an infectious appreciation for the outdoors and the wellbeing benefits of the fresh mountain air.
There is a new award-winning gourmet restaurant, and all stays are now based on an indulgent 3/4 board basis which includes a lavish buffet breakfast, light lunch, tea, and a gourmet dinner — all with complimentary non-alcoholic drinks, teas and coffee available throughout the day. Every meal is regionally-inspired, showcasing Zillergrund’s outstanding culinary prowess. There is also an impressive wine cellar and owner Christian Pfister offers weekly wine tasting sessions, exploring some of Austria’s best wines.
Also produced locally is a portion of the resort’s energy. Courtesy of the adjacent Ziller river, hydroelectric power is harnessed to run much of the energy used at Zillergrund. There is also a ‘we eat what nature offers us’ policy in place which focuses on the best quality local produce. With sustainability high on the agenda, Zillergrund also offers advice on how guests can be kind to the breathtaking nature around them.
